Founded in 1760 to care for the trousseau of the French queen Marie Antoinette, Chenue is today the largest company specialising in fine art logistics in the world. A shareholder in Clé Chenue do Brasil, the French company is involved in the storage and transport of some of the most important exhibitions and collections on the globe. But what does that mean in numbers?
Two warehouses in Paris and one in Nice
To begin with, Chenue maintains 70,000 square metres of storage space in two warehouses located north of Paris, 30 minutes from Charles de Gaulle airport. Another warehouse of 2,300 square metres is 15 minutes from Nice Airport, also very close to Cannes and Monaco. The total area is equivalent to almost nine football pitches, all in climate-controlled spaces, with permanent control of temperature, humidity, security and fire prevention.
25 climate-controlled trucks and a global network
Chenue has 25 trucks of its own for the transport of works of art, all climate-controlled, with padded interiors, equipped with air-ride suspension and monitored by geolocation. Beyond these vehicles, the company also relies on a network of partners around the world that guarantees the quality of its end-to-end logistics service, whatever the origin and destination of the works.
90 exhibitions and 3,000 crates a year
With this capacity, the company works on around 90 exhibitions per year, totalling around 3000 crates transported.
With Clé Chenue do Brasil, Chenue has brought all this experience to Brazil, where it is at the disposal of collectors and museum institutions. Discover our services.
