If it is true that the year only starts after Carnival, 2025 arrives with a busy art calendar in Brazil. Check out the agenda of the biggest events planned for this year!
SP-Arte 2025 | 2 to 6 April
Considered one of the largest art fairs in Latin America, SP-Arte takes place at the Bienal Pavilion, in Ibirapuera Park, São Paulo, bringing together national and international galleries. It is a platform for artists, collectors and enthusiasts to appreciate and acquire works of contemporary art. In addition to the most important Brazilian galleries, the fair has already confirmed the participation of Baró, from Abu Dhabi; Zielinsky, from Barcelona; Casa Zirio, from Bogotá; LAMB and Cecilia Burton, from London; RGR, from Mexico City, among others. Tickets are already on sale.
ArPa/Made 2025 | 28 May to 1 June
ArPa is a contemporary art fair that aims to highlight Latin American artistic production, promoting interaction between artists, gallerists, collectors and the general public. Made (Mercado, Arte, Design), in turn, is a fair dedicated to collectible design, presenting exclusive pieces by national and international designers. In 2025, both fairs will take place simultaneously at the Mercado Livre Arena Pacaembu, in São Paulo, offering a unique opportunity to appreciate and acquire high-quality contemporary art and design.
Bienal de São Paulo 2025 | 6 September 2025 to 11 January 2026
The 36th edition of the Bienal de São Paulo occupies its traditional home at the Ciccillo Matarazzo Pavilion, in Ibirapuera Park, from September. Under the theme Nem todo viajante anda por estradas - Da humanidade como prática, inspired by the poem Da calma e do silêncio by Afro-Brazilian poet Conceição Evaristo, the biennial sets out to "rethink humanity as a verb, a living practice, in a world that demands reimagining relationships, asymmetries and listening as the foundations of coexistence". The chief curator will be Bonaventure Soh Bejeng Ndikung, accompanied by a curatorial team that includes Keyna Eleison, Aline Motta and Eduardo de Jesus.
ArtRio 2025 | 10 to 14 September
Held once again at the Marina da Glória, in Rio de Janeiro, ArtRio reaches its 15th edition, standing out as one of the most relevant events on the Latin American arts calendar. In addition to the fair held in September, the event runs a calendar of activities throughout the year for different audiences. More than 100 collectors and curators from around the world are expected to attend.
