Check out the calendar of art fairs in 2022

Held at the OCA, in Ibirapuera Park, the first edition of ArtSampa opened the annual art fair calendar in March 2022 with the participation of more than 50 galleries and institutions, focused on championing Brazilian art. But the season is only just beginning, and there are other fairs to keep an eye on until the end of the year. Whether to expand a collection, to invest or simply to appreciate contemporary art, fairs are an excellent opportunity. Here are the ones confirmed so far:

SP-Arte | April

It takes place between 6 and 10 April at the Bienal de São Paulo pavilion, also in Ibirapuera Park. In this 18th edition, the fair will feature 100 art galleries and 30 design studios, as well as specialised publishers. Tickets are already on sale and the fair's website provides the full list of galleries and artists, and even previews the sale of some works, from the more accessible ones, in the range of R$ 1,000, to multi-million canvases by Alfredo Volpi and DiCavalcanti. https://www.sp-arte.com/

ArPa | June

The debuting ArPa takes place from 1 to 5 June at the Pacaembu Stadium, in São Paulo, announcing a focus on national galleries and on the prospect of forming new art collectors. MADE (the Art and Design Market fair) and the Feira do Livro de São Paulo will take place simultaneously. https://arpa.art/

ArtRio | September

Organised by the same team behind ArtSampa, ArtRio reaches its 11th edition in September this year. The dates and venue have not yet been confirmed, but the last five editions were held at the charming Maria da Glória, in the central region of Rio de Janeiro. http://artrio.com.
