Tadeu Jungle retrospective at Fiesp

On view until July at the Centro Cultural Fiesp, in São Paulo, is TUDO PODE (perder-se), a solo retrospective exhibition by multidisciplinary artist Tadeu Jungle. Curated by Daniel Rangel, the show occupies the center's Exhibition Space on Avenida Paulista, with installations in varied techniques and media created by Jungle over the past 45 years, including works made especially for the show. The exhibition's logistics were handled by Clé Chenue do Brasil, which specializes in fine art transport.

What the curator says

"The exhibited ensemble visually resonates like a rock opera with distinct moods and nuances that vary throughout the installation-score. The noisy density of the works in the space emanates concepts inherent to his production of more than forty-five years, yet without aspiring to account for its totality. Expansions are still needed, including online actions, projections on building facades, film screenings and many conversations with the artist, creator-creature, who is here; after all, here, anything goes," says Daniel Rangel.

Who is Tadeu Jungle

Tadeu Jungle is a multidisciplinary artist who moves between cinema, TV, virtual reality, video art, visual poetry and photography. A graduate of ECA-USP with a stint at San Francisco State University, he is an heir to Concrete Poetry and has been publishing visual poems in magazines and digital platforms since the 1980s. Jungle began his career in the mail-art movement and experimented with different media, from poetic stickers and graffiti in São Paulo to award-winning video art in Brazil and abroad. His video installations can be seen in institutions such as the MIS, MAC-USP, Museu do Futebol and Museu do Amanhã, consolidating his name in the contemporary art scene.

Over the decades, Jungle expanded his reach, writing about media and communication, creating TV shows and directing films and documentaries, such as the feature "Amanhã Nunca Mais". With the arrival of digital, he explored new forms of poetry, integrating calligraphy and technology. His project "Foto de Segunda" anticipated social media trends and lasted 14 years. In recent years, his work in virtual reality has earned international awards and recognition at the UN. His works are held in the collections of MAM-SP, MAC-SP and Instituto Figueiredo Ferraz.
