Histórias Indígenas
A major group exhibition at MASP bringing together perspectives on Indigenous histories from South America, North America, Oceania and Scandinavia through art and visual culture. It occupied the museum's first floor and second basement level, with curation led by artists and researchers who are Indigenous or of Indigenous descent. It was the central axis of the 2023 program, dedicated to Histórias Indígenas, in dialogue with shows such as MAHKU: Mirações and exhibitions by Carmézia Emiliano.
The logistics operation
The logistics of the exhibition Histórias Indígenas, held by MASP in 2023, involved collecting works of art in several Brazilian states and eight foreign countries: Australia, New Zealand, Sweden, Norway, Canada, Mexico and Peru. The operation required activating Clé Chenue do Brasil's international network of specialized partners in each country to carry out condition checks, build the packing, collect and ship the works, and handle customs clearance under each country's rules for temporary import.
Courier assistance and touring
Clé Chenue do Brasil also assisted the couriers in Brazil, that is, the professionals who accompany the works along their entire journey to final delivery at the destination museum. After closing in São Paulo in February 2024, Histórias indígenas will travel to the Kode Bergen Art Museum in Norway, between April and August 2024.
Beyond a new transport of all the international items to Europe, this new stage of the logistics will also include the temporary export of the Brazilian works to Norway. At the end of this stage, all the pieces will be returned to their owners at their places of origin.
