SESI Lab
SESI Lab is a 100% interactive museum combining art, science, technology and education, opened on November 30, 2022 in Brasília's Setor Cultural Sul. It occupies the former Touring Club building, an iconic structure designed by Oscar Niemeyer at the time the capital was built, with around 10,000 m² of internal area and four exhibition galleries. Conceived as an experience without precedent in Brazil for its emphasis on visitor interaction, it is expected to welcome around 350,000 visitors a year, including students and teachers in workshops and training programs.
About SESI Lab
Conceived in partnership with the Exploratorium in San Francisco (USA), SESI Lab is Brasília's new center for art, science and technology, housed in the iconic building that once served as the city's bus terminal, originally designed by Oscar Niemeyer for the Touring Club. An important part of the museum's collection consists of exhibits: interactive experiences created especially by the Exploratorium to bring visitors closer to scientific concepts in a playful and fun way.
The logistics operation
The exhibits were built in the American museum's laboratories and brought to Brazil by sea. Clé Chenue do Brasil was the company responsible for collecting the containers at the Port of Santos and bringing them to São Paulo, where they were stored in its own art storage facility until the completion of the building's renovation works. Once the building was ready, the exhibits were transported by road to Brasília.
