About the show
The Musée du Luxembourg in Paris hosted the landmark retrospective "Tarsila do Amaral: Peindre le Brésil Moderne", from 9 October 2024 to 2 February 2025. It brought together more than 150 works including paintings from the Pau-Brasil and Anthropophagic phases. The first major retrospective devoted exclusively to the modernist artist on French soil, showcasing the fusion of Brazilian folk and indigenous imagery with Cubism and Primitivism.
